1. Claude adds deep research and Google Workspace integration
Anthropic has upgraded its AI assistant Claude with two major features: agent-based research and Google Workspace integration. The research tool allows Claude to perform multi-step web searches autonomously, while the Workspace integration gives it access to Gmail, Calendar, and Docs. These updates enable Claude to summarize meetings, extract tasks from emails, and find relevant documents with source citations. Enterprise users also benefit from document indexing. These features are in beta and reflect a broader trend of AI assistants converging in capabilities.
2. Microsoft’s Copilot agents now control desktop interfaces
Microsoft has introduced 'Computer Use' in Copilot Studio, enabling AI agents to interact with both web and desktop interfaces. Based on OpenAI’s CUA, this feature runs entirely on Microsoft’s infrastructure and keeps company data within its cloud. It allows automation of tasks like data entry and invoice processing without APIs, marking a major evolution in RPA and AI autonomy.
3. AI Voice Protection for Games
VoicePatrol has launched a real-time AI voice moderation tool for multiplayer games. It detects severe toxicity within 30 seconds, integrates in 4 minutes, and costs just $0.08 per audio hour. The system focuses only on serious threats, reducing over-policing and preserving natural player interaction. Results include a 55% drop in severe incidents, 24% less churn, and 11% more revenue. It also ensures privacy by deleting non-toxic audio instantly. VoicePatrol is already used by studios like Trass Games and aims to make online gaming safer and more engaging.
Bonus. OpenAI is building a social network to rival X
OpenAI is developing a social network similar to X, with a prototype focused on ChatGPT’s image generation and a social feed. The platform aims to help users create better content and provide OpenAI with real-time data to train its AI models. This move could intensify competition with Meta and X, and marks a strategic shift toward owning data sources. It’s unclear if the network will be standalone or integrated into ChatGPT.
